Laminate Flooring

One of the least expensive ways to improve the look of your house is with laminate flooring. It's high on the list of things to do for people who flip homes because of the immediate transformation it provides. We supply and install laminate flooring at rates untouchable by flooring stores and give you the personal attention you want to get from warehouse stores. The quality of our products is equal or higher than those of warehouses.

Things to Consider regarding Laminate Flooring

  • Underlayment - A foam pad that is laid under the laminate flooring that provides support and moisture resistance. We also offer an upgrade to a heavy rubber underlayment that is excellent for sound reduction and mildew prevention (if laying over concrete).
  • Thickness - (6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm) Laminate floorings click together but are not attached to the floor or surrounding walls in any way. Thus they are considered a floating floor that can expand and contract as needed. The thicker laminate flooring is more ridged and thus is more likely to stay flat and true over the years. It also has a better "wear rating". We recommend a minimun thickness of 8mm but 12mm is best.
  • Single Plank - Single plank laminate flooring looks more like the real wood planks of a hardwood floor.
  • Hand-scrapped - The surface of the planks have a texture which give it a more natural, rustic look.
  • Where in Home - Laminate flooring should not be installed in the bathroom because it can swell and pucker due to standing water over time. It can be installed in the kitchen but water should not be left standing on it.
  • How to Care for - Since laminate floorings are sensitive to sitting water a regular mop should not be used on them. A dry mop can be purchased for under $15 and can be used with a cleaner in a spray bottle to keep your floor looking new.

Skillz Construction also offers hardwood floor installation.
